A Legal History of Scotland Volume I: The Beginnings to A.D. 1286

£80.00

Product description

This is the first book in a set of volumes covering the history of the Scottish legal system. Written by David M. Walker, the former Regius Professor of Law at the University of Glasgow, this first volume covers the early period of Scottish legal history from its beginnings to 1286. The book contains a chronological table of events in Scottish history from the year 81CE to 1286. There are chapters on the topics of the beginnings of the law in Scotland, criminal law, justice, property, and the law of succession. There is also a full bibliography of references in the back.

The book itself is in good condition. It is a hardback book with red cloth-bound boards. The title is printed on the front in gold lettering as well as on the spine. The authors's name and the subtitle 'The Beginnings to A.D. 1286' are also printed in gold on the spine. At the bottom of the spine there are the remains of what was a library sticker. Inside there is also a library sticker, marking this copy as from Queen Mary College, as well as library record sticker and a barcode on the first blank page. There are no pen, pencil, or highlighter marks on the pages. This would suit a student of law, a law professional, or a legal historian. It would also appeal to those with an interest in these areas.
