A Legal History of Scotland Volume IV: The Seventeenth Century

£80.00

Product description

This is volume four of a set of legal textbooks abut the history of the law in Scotland. This volume covers the seventeenth century. Written by David M. Walker, the former Regius Professor of Law at the University of Glasgow, this book covers everything between the union of the crowns of England and Scotland in 1603 and the union of the Parliaments in 1707. It covers different areas of the law including the government, the crown, civil law, criminal law, property, and trusts. There are 25 chapters in all.

The book has black cloth bound hardback boards, with silver lettering for the title, author and publisher on the front and on the spine. It is in relatively good condition, with the bottom corners of the cover a little dented. The pages inside are free from pen, pencil, or highlighter. There is some light discolouration to the bottom edges of the pages at the corners.  This legal history would appeal to law students, as well as those in the legal profession. It would also appeal to historians of the law, especially of Scotland.
