A Legal History of Scotland Volume V: The Eighteenth Century

£80.00

Product description

This is the fifth volume in a set of legal textbooks covering the history of the law in Scotland. Written by the former Regius Professor of Law at the University of Glasgow, David M. Walker, this volume covers the period from 1707 and Treaty of Union to the beginning of the more modern era of law in the late eighteenth century. The book contains a chronological table of historical events from 1707 to 1815. There are chapters covering areas such as government, the church, justice, criminal law, civil procedure, the law of property, and the law of succession.

The book itself is an ex-library book and has several stickers on the inside cover indicating its history in Glasgow University Library. There is also a stamp on the bottom of the page edges stating University of Glasgow. Otherwise it is in good condition. The pages are clean and free from any pen, pencil or highlighter. This would interest students of law, law professionals, as well as legal historians. It would also appeal to anyone with an interest in these areas.
