This book follows Alice, who starts the books bored and unhappy with herself while searching for work in the City of London. Brought up by a strict aunt devoted to rationalism, Alice is drawn into the mysterious world of a healing centre based at a church. Considered an outcast most of her life, the centre sees her valued and encircled by mixed bag of characters. The book is in good condition with only minor signs of damage to the dust jacket and outside cover. Internally there is some damage to the binding of the first page to the rest of the pages, though all sheets are still secure and the pages are clean. The title page includes a message written in pen by the author to a 'Hillary'.
