The Wood Fire In No 3

£24.99

Product description

A fellowship of bohemians sit round an open fire sharing their collection of engaging tales. "Plenty of chestnuts, not the roasted kind, the "old" kind, poignant stories both happy and sad, on subjects such as the ideal dinner, occasions where they or others of their acquaintance faced danger, encountered conmen, and experienced a fleeting taste of romance with lovely or mysterious women." A popular novel of its time from the American author, artist and engineer Francis Hopkinson Smith, with colour illustrated plates by Alonzo Kimball.
This rare hardback is in very good condition. The blue cloth pictorial boards with gilt lettering to the spine have some bumping and rubbing to the corners and edges. Inside, the pages are slightly yellowed with time, but are generally clean and bright. All pages are in place, and the binding is tight.
