A Classic Collection of Authentic Icelandic Tales of the Supernatural

£14.99

Product description

In the mind-nineteenth century, Jon Arnason co;piled a set of Iceland Folktales. Ever since that set was first published in 1862-64, it has been considered the foremost collection of Icelandic folktales and has provided readers with inspiration for works of art, adventure tales for recreational reading, and information about life and people of earlier times. The late Professor Alan Boucher, former chairman of the Department of English at the University of Iceland, translated a selection of these folktales, which was published in three volumes by Iceland Review in 1975-76. The present publication combines the three prior volumes into one.
