Arthur Mee's Hero Book

£3.99

Product description

A book discussing heroes from across history. However, the heroes it speaks of are not just the typical heroes of combat and war, but also philosophers and politicians who fought for knowledge and freedom. Of course, it does also have traditional heroes too, such as Joan of Arc (called here Joan of Domremy). The book is quite old so some elements may be biased or not politically correct, (notably the term 'negro' is used), but as far as this description writer can tell the intent is not to demean, merely a product of the times. With this in mind, it is an excellent book for younger students old enough to realise the differences of the past.

The book is worn, but not severely damaged. It has been well-read but carefully so, as despite significant shelf wear and softening of the cloth cover, there is no significant damage to the spine or pages.
