Collieries of South Wales

£10.99

Product description

" From hundreds of coal mines in an area traditionally associated with coal, especially in the valleys, there are now only two pits working and some 30,000 men can only reflect on their previous life as a miner. This book consists of the pick of some 7,500 photographs, many taken underground, and of 39 collieries across the coalfield. They portray the very pulse of the area: the pits which were so very much the life blood of the valleys; colliery buildings; men riding conveyors to work; coal cutters ripping out the coal; photographs of the men at work and so on. "

Book in very good condition with clean, bright pages throughout and securely bound. Some light fading to the spine of the dust jacket, otherwise condition is very good and clean. Printed in 2000, first edition.
