  Rev. John Alan Giles, a fellow of Corpus Christi College, Oxford, spent much of his career in school-teaching, but supplemented his income writing a number of theological and historical works. This facsimile edition (original 1852) was published in 1986 by Oxfordshire County Libraries from an original in Oxfordshire County Record Office. It includes reproductions of line drawings, as in the original. The history of the villages of Cogges, Crawley, Curbridge, etc. is covered as well as Witney. This copy is in very good condition, showing little sign of wear. Cover and contents are clean and bright, and the binding tight.  Locally published, 107 pages, plus appendix (60 pages). Subtitled : "With Notices of the Neighbouring Parishes and Hamlets."
