A well-used copy of this late Victorian gazetteer "comprising its ancient and modern history; a general view of its features; its agricultural, mining, & manufacturing industries; family history and genealogical descent; myths, legends, biographical sketches, &., &." but unfortunately missing the "map prepared expressly for the work". Red cloth/half tan leather; spine missing, replaced with tape; edgeworn and grubby. Inner hinges split, first 10 pages almost detached, old tape marks. Text block binding otherwise secure, edges browned. Scattered foxing, owner name ffep and back pastedown but text mainly clean and well preserved. (x), 637 - 1176 pp plus 8pp adverts to rear. Published 1890.
