By the author of 'Put Out The Flag', the story
of the Isle of Wight Carriers, this book illustrates how one family and those who
touched their lives in the small Isle of Wight village of Chale, from the 1830s
to the 1980s were affected by events of local, national, and political consequence,
over which they had no control; and how they helped develop their village
community. Prepared from letters, records, and diaries kept for over 150 years,
the words are mainly theirs, written as it was.
Some signs of previous use (e.g. scuffs, minor
blemishes on the cover). Slight curling at edges and shelf-wear marks.
Overall, no significant flaws.
Not ex-library and no notes or highlighting.
