Product description

The Captivity of Judah, written by Favell Lee Mortimer, is a book about a period in Jewish history during which a number of people from the ancient Kingdom of Judah were captives in Babylonia. Favell Lee Mortimer was a British Evangelical author of educational books for children. She leaves a quote in the first few pages explaining how this book out of all her nine scriptures is the saddest because it explains how the Jews were taken captive for their sins. As well as a detailed story, the book also contains monochrome detailed line art illustrations and translations of ancient text used during 597 BC.

This book was published by Longmans , Green, And CO, in 1909 and contains 345 pages along with 40 extra pages of questions related to different sections of the book. The front cover is bright red with the title printed in black along with a two printed flowers in white with black outlines that have minor discolouration. The spine is discoloured due to exposure to the sunlight and the corners show minor shelf ware. Some of the pages have been previously folded at the very top of the corners and the outside of the pages are also slightly darker than the original colour of the paper.
