As can be seen from the picture the book has a red cover and black lettering  to the spine and a white illustration on the front cover.

The spine has been faded by sunlight.

The front cover has scratches and wear along the upper edge. 

The upper edge of the rear cover has wear particuarly near the hinge.

The rear cover has scratches and mild indentations.

The upper and lower corners of the front cover have bumping.

The front and rear endpages have foxing.

The book contains two pages enclosed detailing a subscription and details of volume 2.
