First published in 1892. The author, Constance Frederica “Eka” Gordon-Cumming (1837–1924) was a noted Scottish travel writer and painter. Born in a wealthy family, she travelled around the world, and painted, described scenes, and life as she saw them.
this book was kindly donated to the shop by the Weatherall family. Sir David John Weatherall, GBE, FRS (1933 – 2018) was a British physician and researcher in molecular genetics, haematology, pathology and clinical medicine. He founded the Institute of Molecular Medicine at Oxford, which was renamed the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine in his honour in 2000 upon his retirement. There is a gift inscription to Professor Weatherall on the front end paper.t
