Identity and culture in english domain. Specific discourse

£30.00

Product description

This volume is a collection of articles based on research carried out within
the framework of a government-funded project "Identity and Culture in English
Domain-specific Discourse" involving teams from five Italian universities:
Bergamo, Turin, Naples, Rome (IUSM) and Milan with Maurizio Gotti
as national coordinator. The articles in the volume, published by the Research
Unit of Naples University Federico II with Gabriella Di Martino as local
coordinator, have a common research framework as they focus on textual,
semantic and pragmatic features of domain-specific discourse with a view
to exploring how local or disciplinary cultural identities are altered, integrated
or redefined by international/intercultural communication. The articles
are embedded within this common framework with reference to specific ficlds
of discourse, i.e. legal, academic, institutional, socio-political, business
and economics, which accounts for their distribution into three thematic
sections :"Professional Identities", "European and International Identities",
"Identities in Academic Texts and Contexts".
