Early English Church Music I: Early Tudor masses: I

£19.99

Product description

Early English Church Music (EECM) is published by Stainer & Bell on behalf of the British Academy. The aim of the series is to make available sacred music by English composers from the earliest times to the middle of the seventeenth century, in accordance with the highest scholarly standards. This, the first volume of the series was published in 1963, and in the following half-century its pre-eminence of the series as a source of repertoire was confirmed through publication of major works by Dering, Gibbons, Sheppard, Tallis, Taverner, Tomkins, Tye, White and others.

This volume includes works by Richard Alwood and Thomas Ashewell and includes an introduction and editorial commentary by John Bergsagel.

Good condition. There is some minor edge rubbing to the cover and a small area of surface damage on the back (see photo). The spine shows some minor sunning. The pages are tanned but clean and undamaged with no notes or highlighting.
