Groves Dictionary of Music and Musicians

£125.00

Product description

This set reprinted in 1976. Vol 1-9 originally published in 1954 with Supplementary Vol 10 originally published in 1961.This 5th edition set is in good condition.  The only issue is with Vol 5 where the binding has partly come away from the spine.  Every volume has an ExLibris sticker in it displaying the previous owner's name.

Long established as a classic work, the fifth edition of Grove's Dictionary of Music and Musicians, representing the most thorough-going revision undertaken since the original publication in four volumes (1878-89), is now available for the first time in paperback.  Some idea of the increase in scale may be gained from the fact that the fifth edition now comprises ten volumes.
