Style in Musical Art - an inaugural lecture

£29.99

Product description

Published in 1900 as an 'inaugural lecture' at Oxford by Hubert Parry, most celebrated for his score to William Blake's poem fragment "Jerusalem", which has become a 'second national anthem'. A later (1911) version of this lecture became the best-selling hardback of the same name, but this original, much more concise, version in the one-hour lecture format is very scarce.

Card covers around paper. Fair condition for age. No highlighting or other notes, though there are a few faults: two pieces of the cover have been torn away, most notably at the top (see image); the cover also has the owner's signature (crossed out) and the bookseller's stamp. Hence low price for this rare item.
