The Gershwins

£12.99

Product description

George Gershwin, the composer of "Rhapsody in Blue", "An American in Paris", and
"Porgy and Bess", died in 1937 at the age of 39 and at the summit of his
brilliant career. This pictorial biography was produced with the full
cooperation of his brother Ira, likewise a composer, and it draws on the
memories and personal collections of many friends and admirers.
Illustrated with over 350 photographs, some in colour, it contains the lyrics
of the most celebrated Gershwin songs, as well as contemporary music sheets,
diaries, and musical and theatrical memorabilia.

The edges of the d.j. are chipped, with one or two small pieces missing and some
small tears that have been mended with sellotape. The book is otherwise in very
good condition. The edges of the cover are slightly rubbed, but the cover is
