The Idea of Nature in Disney Animation

£19.99

Product description

Black cloth covered book with silver titles on the spine, all the corners are fine but there is a small dent in the back.  The dust jacket is also in very good condition with minor bending to the upper and lower edges and a dent in the back.  The front of the dust jacket is illustrated.  Internally the book is clean, bright and tightly bound.  This is an academic book in which the author challenges "the notion that the sentimentality of the Disney aesthetic prevents audiences from developing a critical awareness of contested environmental issues.  Rather he argues, even as the films communicate the central ideologies of the times in which they were produced, they also express the ambiguities and tensions that underlie these dominant values."
