First edition, rather aged. P/b with plain white card cover without flaps, and paper dustwrapper, with flaps - all original covers; paper spine is glued to book's spine, I assume as issued; unfortunately the front of the paper d/w is now detached. Browned/tanned & in places brittle; colour very faded in places. Chips all around & spine worn. Cracking between pp12/13. V small brown stain on lower margin, fading up from p20, strongest on p23, gone by p27. Pages pretty bright, considering. Last paginated page (text) is 37, three blank leaves following. 'Waiting For Godot' is the only other Beckett work mentioned, on the rear flap. This was SB's first radio play, and was broadcast by the BBC (their commission, or more likely, a producer's 'suggestion') in January 1957. On rear cover: adverts for 2 plays by Osborne, 3 by Dudley Fitts (Greek transls) and 2 by Jean Genet.
