Texts of our Life - Bilingual Selected Poems

£170.00

Product description

Dmitri Aleksandrovich Prigov (1940 - 2007) was a Russian writer and artist.  Prigov was a dissident during the era of the Soviet Union.  At the time of his death, He had been planning an event where he would sit in a wardrobe reading poetry while being carried up 22 flights of stairs at Moscow State University by members of Voina Group.

This bilingual edition of 43 of Prigov's poems was the first in English and as such a kind of collection of "greatest hits".  Selections have been taken from all periods of Prigov's work and include most of the poems for which he is famous, as well as several unpublished ones.

There is a signed dedication on the front free end paper.  It is not known whether the signature is that of the poet.

There is very slight bumping to the corners of the book. Other than that the book is in excellent condition throughout.
