A Concordance to the Holy Scriptures

£90.00

Product description

Published by James Duncan of Glasgow (1787). Hardback. This is the third edition. This book is an alphabetical list based on a detailed analysis of the bible. It is a reference work for anyone reading the bible. It's full title is : A Concordance to the Holy Scriptures: With the Significations and Applications of the Words Contained Therein. Also, All the Hebrew and Greek Names. This is a very scarce, fragile and collectable book. Published around 50 years after the concordances first publication.

CONDITION: Used, good. This small volume retains it's shape and is complete. The boards are bumped on the corners and the spine is scuffed and has a split to the front cover. Front board is detached for nearly entire length, hence fragility, being held on by a sliver of the F.F.E.P. at the bottom and a part of the binding cord at the top. The pages are tanned and there is evidence of some staining along the edges of the text block. On the F.F.E.P. there are the names of two contemporary owners dated 1793 and 1818 respectively. One name appears again on the following page. All are in neat handwriting. Please note, the small black marks present in some images are the fault of the camera and not the book itself. (See photos)
