Author Joseph Jacobs, has chiefly reprinted the accompanying versions of the legend of Barlaam and Josaphat. The English versions of the Barlaam Legend are but poor things, contracted to such an extent that scarcely anything remains of their resemblance to the original.
With an introduction, which deals with the history of the legend, to the extensive collections for the introductions to this work and study of Fables of Bidpai and AEsop in the same series.

The book is slightly worn with stain marks, but overall is still in fair condition
