The Bampton Lectures of 1928.  The author was made Regius Professor of Moral and Pastoral Theology in 1933 and 4 years later Bishop of Oxford. In books such as this one, he revived the study of Moral Theology in the Church of England and is considered one of the leading moral theologians of the 20th century.
The main theme of the book is the development of the idea of 'seeing God' or the beatific vision. Among the writes dealt with are St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas (as is evident from the sub title) and St. Ignatius Loyola.  £9.99
