Meer democratie minder politiek? - More democracy less politics?

£5.99

Product description

Nederlandstalige editie.

There are various reasons for concern about the future of Dutch democracy. One of those concerns is the arrangement of the demos: the assumption is that political dissatisfaction is growing and democratic involvement is decreasing. Public opinion in the Netherlands is central to this study. Based on findings from previous research and with analyzes of a wide variety of survey data, we provide insight into the attitudes and wishes of the population with regard to democracy and politics. How do citizens assess Dutch democracy? What does 'democracy' actually mean to them? What do they think of representative and direct democracy and of decision-making by independent experts? And what does this mean for discussions about democratic innovation and the future of Dutch democracy? Josje den Ridder is a political scientist and conducts research into public opinion, social participation, political parties and party members. Paul Dekker is a political scientist and works at SCP and as a professor at Tilburg University research into civil society and public opinion.

Excellent pages, a little edge and cover wear.  Dutch language edition.
