Scottish Mountaineering Club District Guide - Munro's Tables

£7.99

Product description

Scottish Mountaineering Club District Guide -

This is the book whose updating has caused much recent controversy amongst hillwalkers. Munro's Tables were first published in 1891. Since then, it is safe to say that no other publication about the Scottish 3000ft mountains has generated more interest and, occasionally, argument! Successive editors have had to keep abreast of the many changes in published mountain heights, while periodic reappraisals of the status of borderline Munros and Tops have also led to changes in the Tables. The 1997 edition of Munro's Tables is based on the most recently published Ordnance Survey height data, and a fresh look at some of the major mountain ranges has led to the promotion of eight Tops to be Munros, and the demotion of one Munro. Corbett's and Donald's Tables of lower hills have been revised while for the first time in an SMC publication the list of Grahams (Scottish hills between 2000 and 2500 feet) is included.

Excellent pages, a little edge and board wear.
