The Chess Amateur Volume 1

£85.00

Product description

The volume is a compilation of a year's copies of the
monthly chess magazine from October 1906 to September 1907. As well as of interest
to chess enthusiasts, the volume offers fascinating glimpses of life and
leisure in the early 20th century. Technicalities of the game are covered as
well as social events together with detailed advertisements.

The title is in good condition generally with spine ends
chipped and rubbed and bumping on corners. Gilt engraving on boards and spine
is a little worn.

There is an owner's stamp on the inside front cover and the
end paper opposite the title page seems to have been scored out.

The contents are tightly bound and in good order. Towards
the end of the volume, pages are very slightly tanned.
