Ben Travers CBE AFC (12 November 1886 – 18 December 1980) was an English writer. His output includes more than twenty plays, thirty screenplays, five novels, and three volumes of memoirs. He is best remembered for his long-running series of farces first staged in the 1920s and 1930s at the Aldwych Theatre. Many of these were made into films and later television productions.

Welcome to Oxfam Books & Music Fareham. The short walk along West Street towards the rail station is worth the effort to discover our varied and well organised selection of books, music and cards. We stock modern fiction, classic literature, and sci-fi/fantasy books. History, travel, transport and hobby activities are also well catered for. There is also a book section just for children. For the music enthusiast there is sheet music, vinyl and CDs as well as a listening post. We also stock DVDs and computer games.

Please feel free to come and browse. We are always happy to receive your donations of books or music, and you will be asked if you wish to Gift Aid them to Oxfam.

We are always on the lookout for people who have some spare time to donate to us in the form of volunteering. Should this be you then please ask for a Volunteer Application Form at the till.
