McKim, Mead and White were a firm of American architects who designed a large number of buildings in the classical style. The style had gone out of fashion and many buildings were destroyed. The volumes contains 399 plates with details of many buildings, an introduction by Benjamin Blom and an essay by Leland Roth. Work originally published in 1915, reissued in 1973 with a new essay by Leland Roth. This is a 1977 reprint of the latter.

Hardback book in very good condition. Ends of spine and top corners bumped. Bottom corners chipped. Bottom corners of pages lightly creased. Bookseller's label on front endpaper, and pencilled "New York, October 1980".

Dust jacket in good condition. Bottom back corner chipped. Ends of spine and other corners bumped. Vertical creasing a third the way down the back cover. Shelf wear.

Located in the centre of the historic market town, we are open seven days a week. You will find a wide and interesting range of stock, including a great selection of children's books, popular and classical music on vinyl and CD, vintage Penguins and other paperbacks, and quirky and collectable items. Our stock is selected by knowledgeable volunteers, catering for both general readers and specialists. We are happy to check our backroom stock for wanted items and also offer a request service. Our themed windows are usually changed every two weeks, with our December Christmas displays offering a diverse and unusual range of gift ideas.

We welcome your donations, which can be brought to the rear of the building (via the Lower Kings Road Car Park). Please contact us before bringing large quantities to discuss arrangements.
