Three Folio Society books from the 1970s.

1. Rasselas by Samuel Johnson with an introduction by Gilbert Phelps and lithographs by Edward Bawden published 1975. Decorative boards with blue cloth on spine and silver lettering. Pale yellow slip case. Book has slightly faded spine, but otherwise in very good condition inside. Slip case has a few tiny scratches and shelf marks but otherwise in sound condition. One of the lithographs is shown above.

2. A Russian Gentleman by Serghei Aksakov translated and with an introduction by J. D. Duff and lithographs by Jane Johnson published 1976. Boards are cloth covered in pale tan and white cloth and the gilt lettering on a small piece attached to the spine (this is lifting on one corner). The pages are clean and in very good order. Slip case is light tan and is faded in part but otherwise in good condition.

3. Brief Lives by John Aubrey - a selection based upon existing contemporary portraits edited by Richard Barber published 1975. Contains black and white photos of the people depicted in the book. Tan slip case has the covering split away at the bottom (see photo) but the book is in very good condition. Decorative cloth boards with gilt lettering and in clean very good condition inside.
