"You must have a silver penny to get into Fairyland"
Blanche Jennings Thompson, of the English Department, City Normal School, Rochester, New York, wrote elsewhere and quotes in the Preface to this book, "If a poem is worthy at all, it isn't tough - it is frail and exquisite, a mood, a moment of sudden understanding, a cobweb which falls apart at a clumsy touch".
This is an illustrated collection of poems by a variety of authors, for boys and girls, to be read aloud and enjoyed, "silver pennies" for children to enjoy and remember.
The book contains an index of authors and an index of first lines.
