Profusely illustrated with full-page illustrations around text, this is the story of Gail, who is impulsively given a present of a leotard and ballet lessons on a whim. Rest assured, Gail loves ballet, and before long she is writing and choreographing a circus-themed ballet with her friends. She will, needless to say, need a series of fortuitous and almost-impossible scenarios to happen to pull off her thoroughly modern ballet plot, but no spoilers shall be provided here.
The book was issued with gold tokens which one could cut out and use to claim items including a real detective's magnifying glass and a 'luxury fold-out bookcase' to hold all of your Gold Token books... which does pique my curiosity, as this particular Gold Token book is fairly large. Sadly, I suspect the true form of the Gold Token bookcase has been forever lost to time. It required the princely sum of 40 gold tokens, so I can only imagine the splendour.
