A set of 4 small books covering British poets.

Volume I
- Poems by: Milton, Cowper, Goldsmith, Thomson, Falconer, Akenside, Collins, Gray and Somervile.

Volume II
- Poems by Henry Kirke White, Burns, Beattie, Gay, Shenstone, Butler and Byron.

Volume III
- Poems by Hannah More, Pope, Isaac Watts, Hayley, Mason, Prior, Grahame and Logan.

Volume IV
- Poems by Dryden, Lyttleton, Hammond, Charlotte Smith, Richardson, Bloomfield, Gifford and Canning.

Each book has dark red hardback half-leather cover with marbled boards. The front and back paste-down end papers are marbled as are one side of the front and back free end papers. The page ends are marbled.

All the volumes have some rubbing and bumping. Volume I and III have a small tear at the top right of the spine where it meets the front cover. There is light foxing to the front and back free end papers and the title pages. One or two of the inside pages have the odd spot of foxing however, for the majority part, the pages are clean. The bindings are firm.
