Rare first edition of the book re-published by the Left Book Club in 1937 with an additional preface. Part 1: Socialism in historical Christianity; Part 2: Communism and religion; Part 3: Dies irae. The book set out to challenge the traditional attitude of Christianity towards the question of radical social change, and also to challenge the orthodox attitude of Communism to religion.

Dust-jacket chipped with small chunk missing at front and small tears at spine and back. Spine darkened, cover faded compared with fold-ins. Cover worn at edges. Some foxing on end-papers and page edges. Lower corner of pp. 117-134 has been folded in but has not formed a significant crease.

Welcome to Oxfam Books & Music Fareham. The short walk along West Street towards the rail station is worth the effort to discover our varied and well organised selection of books, music and cards. We stock modern fiction, classic literature, and sci-fi/fantasy books. History, travel, transport and hobby activities are also well catered for. There is also a book section just for children. For the music enthusiast there is sheet music, vinyl and CDs as well as a listening post. We also stock DVDs and computer games.

Please feel free to come and browse. We are always happy to receive your donations of books or music, and you will be asked if you wish to Gift Aid them to Oxfam.

We are always on the lookout for people who have some spare time to donate to us in the form of volunteering. Should this be you then please ask for a Volunteer Application Form at the till.
