David Lloyd George: The Man and the Statesman (Volumes I & II)

£17.99

Product description

David Lloyd George was a British statesman who served as Chancellor from 1908 and then as Prime
Minister of the United Kingdom from 1916 to 1922. He was the final Liberal to hold the post of Prime Minister. He was a first language Welsh speaker and was raised in Wales from
around 3 months old. He is so far the only British Prime Minister to have been
Welsh and to have spoken English as a second language.

These 2 volumes, while giving a brief outline of his childhood
influences, focus on his career from his first steps in the law and politics,
through his successes and failures in government, his actions during the First
World War, his retirement and his legacy.

There are 16 black and white plates across the 2 volumes.

The volumes are in good condition. Red cloth boards with gilt
title to spine and signature to front. Some minor marks on cover and sunning to
spine. Pages are lightly tanned with some foxing. The binding is sound in both
volumes.
