Mulki Radhakrishna Shetty was born in India. He was educated in Bangalore and qualified as a Physician from Madras University. He then studies at the University of Liverpool in England. Later in Canada he trained as a Medical Oncologist. This was followed by the practice of Medical Oncology in the United States. During this period he published extensively in all the major medical surgical and cancer journals. Upon retirement in the year 2000, he switched to writing couplets. In 2005 he wrote the Encyclopaedia of Quotable Couplets. This was followed by four more volumes of English Couplets (Limca Book of Records in 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2014; also Ripleys believe it or not in 2009). This is the sixth volume of English Couplets. The total number of couplets in these volumes is in excess of one hundred thousand.
