Published by Blackie & Son Ltd Glasgow and Dublin. Contents cover watercolour instruction by Ethel Nisbet, Flower Painting for Beginners, was part of Vere Foster's series of art instruction and was published by Blackie and Son in 1884. Nisbet, an English watercolour artist, takes the student step-by-step through the process of acquiring the proper supplies and the methods of painting the details of several flowers in the watercolour medium. There are also twelve of her finished paintings included in the book and poetry accompanying every flower. This book has been beautifully edited and formatted, and the paintings have all been restored. The flowers included are: Dahlia, Different Roses, Daisy, Poppy, Geranium, Pansy, Sweet Pea, Clematis, Cherries, Bird's Nest and Berries.
