Gypsies

£150.00

Product description

Unpaginated; both book and dust jacket have had a stout bump at the heel of the spine; the jacket is also a little bumped along the top edge, and the front and rear panels are a little rubbed, but it is not price-clipped.

In 1978, Koudelka was awarded the Prix Nadar in Paris for Gypsies. On the dust jacket flap Robert Delpire says 'The contempt Josef has for all commentary, explanation or rationalization, and his refusal of captions and of anything didactic, is a form of questioning carried to the ultimate degree. In the incessant resurgence of questions he asks himself, Josef put himself and the reader to the test of the reality reflected in his photographs. From this grave and stubborn quest, impassioned and unending, this book offers a fragment in the raw.'

Weight 1400g. Size: 4to - over 9" - 12" Tall - Oblong.
