Hardback, half-leather binding ,687 pages, marbled endpapers and page block edges, steel engraved frontispiece portrait of monarchs and further engraved portrait at page 348. Cover, bound in half leather with marbled boards and light brown calf corners and spine with gilt titling and decoration to spine over raised bands, is in good, sound condition for its age with a little shelfwear related rubbing at corners, edges and spine ends. Internally the book is in good, sound, clean and firm condition with some foxing here and there and light tanning to pages commensurate with age. Attractive presentation label (dated 1892) on front paste-down. A nice copy of this lovely old history book in its original sound and attractive half-leather binding.
