This slim catalogue accompanied an exhibition held at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge in 1994. The artist, who can be more generally described as a 'landscape painter', pushes the boundaries of what may be encompassed in those words, and considers simply two aspects of the environment in extreme detail - the results having a primitive grandeur which is impressive and evocative. The catalogue includes illustrations (various sizes) of 39 of the 55 pieces in the exhibition.
Keith Grant (b.1930) considered one of the greatest living British landscape painters, has travelled extensively, and produced extraordinary, resonant images of nature, especially in the north. Resident in Norway since 1996, he is still working, and producing an exciting series of what he calls ‘autobiographical’ paintings.
Our catalogue is in very good condition, showing almost no signs of wear or use, either external or internal. The first (title) page bears an inscription by the artist "for the Co..am Gallery with best wishes Keith Grant 4/94".
