A scarce book published in 1893. Printed by the Chiswick Press. The title page states published for private circulation, St. Valentines Day, MDCCCXCIII.
Bound in cream/white Japanese vellum, printed on handmade paper, one of 125 copies, 25 of which were bound in vellum. Gilt titles. Black and white frontispiece illustration, with a decoration at beginning of each chapter. Four ribbons are attached to the edge of the boards, to enable the book to be tied closed. Please note these are a damaged, with one piece detached, but still present.

The vellum is a bit grubby and the cover doesn't lie flat when closed. The page edges are a bit dusty, but the pages are still fairly clean and are only lightly yellowed. Binding is tight.
