Section A, " The Basic Industries," deals with coal, iron, steel, and shipbuilding; Section B, " The Semi-basic Industries," discusses the chemical industries and derived industries, such as soaps, glass, paper, leather, rubber. etc.; Section C, "The Group of the Textile Industries." describes fully the wool, cotton, and silk industries, and minor industries (lace, gloves, smallware, etc.); Section D treats the clothing manufacture, the manufacture of food, and printing, book-binding, and publishing; Section E consists of chapters on power and transport in British Industry. The book includes many maps diagrams and other illustrations.
