The text quotes from Jane Austen's letters to show that she greatly enjoyed her visits to stay with relatives in London, and considers the different houses where she stayed, all of which were fortunately still standing at the time this essay was written.

Winifred Eileen Watson [1906-2002] was an English writer who published six books in the 1930s and early 1940s. She is best known for her third novel, ‘Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day’.
