£60.00

Product description

Osbert Sitwell's five volume autobiography. All volumes are first editions, but two are reprints: Left Hand, Right Hand (Vol. 1, 1950 reprint of 1945 1st printing); The Scarlet Tree (Vol. 2, 1946 1st printing); Great Morning (Vol. 3, June 1948 reprint of April 1948 1st printing); Laughter in the Next Room (Vol. 4, 1949 1st printing); and Noble Essences (Vol. 5, 1950 1st printing); All volumes are bound in red cloth with the title in gilt on a black background on the spine, and the author's name in gilt on the spine. All volumes have light, scattered, foxing, and foxing to page edges; slight crushing to the head and tail of the spine; a dust jacket that has some foxing, and a small loss of paper at the corners and at the head and tail of the spine. The dust jacket of Vol. 3 is clipped, but all other dust jackets are unclipped. There is an ink mark across the fore edges of Vol. 3, and that Volume also has some small holes in the paper of the dust jacket on the rear board. A small area at the foot of the spine of Vol. 5 is sunned. The five volumes are in protective plastic covers.
