My Kind of Country

£7.99

Product description

Douglas Badcock (1922 - 2009), was an Australian artist from the Queenstown area; this was the first book of his work to be published. Many of the 34 oil paintings it contains are of the mountains, valleys, rivers and lakes of the Wakatipu, Hollyford and West Coast Regions, plus Central Otago and the South Otago coast.
The dust jacket is bumped, chipped and creased along all edges, with a long shallow triangular section missing from the bottom edge; the cover has general indentations to the glossy surface, and two closed tears, approx. 1.7cm and 1cm, on the top edge. The book has very strong boards covered with blue cloth, which is sunned around edges. The inside, printed on art paper, is clean and bright. The superb paintings are reproduced in full colour with black and white sketches and commentaries by the artist. A heavy book requiring courier delivery.
