Newfoundland and Its Untrodden Ways

£9.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

"John Guille Millais (1865-1931) was an avid hunter, naturalist, writer and artist... In the early years of the twentieth century, Millais explored the interior of Newfoundland, tracking and hunting the great herds of caribou that migrate through this region. In 1907 he published 'Newfoundland and Its Untrodden Ways', an account of his journeys. This monumental work, released here in its entirety a century later, includes Millais' own paintings, sketches and photographs. Naturalist Shane Mahoney provides a new foreword to Millais' original work." In good condition, with minor scratches to covers but interior unmarked. A fascinating volume of interest to the naturalist or historian. Illustrated mostly in black and white by photographs and sketches, but with a few colour plates at the back showing reproductions of watercolours.
