Nightmares

£100.00

Product description

Nightmares - Philip Allan (eds).
A Collection of Uneasy Tales.

Published by Philip Allan; first impression of the 1933 edition. This is the second series of stories in the collection, never before published.
pp 255 plus publisher's advertisement to rear end paper.

No dust jacket; blue cloth boards with a few light scratches to both faces. The lower has a couple of russet stains (very small). Light fraying to one corner of lower board. A tear of 1cm to the spine fabric and very light fraying to the spine base. Spine is bleached to a uniform tan.

All pages tanned and darkened to the peripheries; the paper grade is coarse, rather like war grade to the touch but quite strong, and the binding is tight: it will suffer cracking if not treated with respect but all is well for now. Very slight gape to the spine fabric. Block edges tanned.

There is an ink signature to the front end paper.
Twelve disturbing bedtime stories for the restless insomniac, in the spirit of Poe.

Wonder how this unique item ended up online?

Most of the second-hand items you see online have been donated, by supporters like you, to our high street stores. Each item is then priced, photographed and listed on this site by our amazing team of volunteers from across the country.

After you have bought your item, our team of volunteers package and dispatch it from the Shop straight to you or your chosen recipient.

All profits from the sales of our goods go towards funding Oxfam's work around the world. We rely on your donations to sell online so please keep the cycle of goodness going!

Oxfam Bookshop Market Harborough

Oxfam is the UK's largest second hand bookseller. Oxfam bookshops offer a wider selection of books than most shops, from modern fiction and leisure interest to more specialist subjects, classics, and rare or collectable books. We also stock an attractive range of greetings cards and a good selection of stationery. Come and browse!

Could you help us by collecting donations from donors homes? Our shop receives many offers of generous donations that we have to turn down as we do not have volunteers able to collect. We would ask you to collect in your own car, at your convenience and reimburse your petrol costs. It might be a couple of times a month and would make a really big difference to our ability to make money.
