Full details: “Palestine and Syria with routes through Mesopotamia and Babylonia and the island of Cyprus. Handbook for Travellers. With 21 Maps, 56 plans, and a panorama of Jerusalem. Fifth edition, remodelled and augmented, 1912”
Last edition of the guide to be published before the First World War and the end of the Ottoman Empire.
Softcover book in good used condition, internally good to very good. Ends of spine and corners bumped, top front corners chipped, covers slightly bowed. Spine and fore edges sunned. Edges of text block marbled, top edge darkened. Pages a little yellowed. Owner’s name and date (1931) on front free endpaper, on a card pasted to the back of the ffep, and on the half-title.
All maps and the panaorama are present and in very good condition other than a few minor creases, and rust stains from staples where the panorama is attached.
Overall, a nice copy of a scarce item.
