Passion

£39.99

Product description

A once-in-a-decade performance of The Passion Play comes to life in this richly illustrated book. The 41st Passion Play season in 2010 in Oberammergau is the result of a magnificent communal effort by the whole village, in keeping with a 376-year-old tradition. For Christian Stuckl's production, Stefan Hageneier has designed stage sets, costumes and boldly coloured tableaux vivants. Brigitte Maria Mayer's sumptuously staged photographs provide a vivid impression of the Play. And so, together with this illustrated volume, may St. Luke's description of the suffering of Jesus Christ at the end of his gospel be clearly conveyed to everyone: "And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned."

The book has text written in both German and English.

The book is in very good condition with very minor marks on  the cover that are mostly noticeable up-close but otherwise not pronounced enough. The inside pages are as new and still retains its fresh-out-press smell.
